Knowing Meta/Facebook is bad is one thing, but it's a whole other level to realize that it has actually fueled and promoted genocide. Thanks for the great article. I have bookmarked it.

BTW, I saw what you did on the emails! Saying the article will get cut off because of length is a great way to get people to come here where they can actually upvote it.

This article made me think about that open source recommendation engines...(https://github.com/grahamjenson/list_of_recommender_systems) and the need for standards and may be open sourcing recommendation engines of any social networks.. It's a way to think of digital social networks and importantly the search and recommendation engines as a public utility.. Remember reading an article along those lines, but can't find it now sadly..
